A mix of two different aspects of popular culture, the classic old image of an Indigenous persons, in case a Western Shoshone man named "Shoshone Pete", coupled with the lightening bolt referenced in David Bowie's iconic record cover for Aladdin Sane. A statement about Indigenous existence embodying all spaces, with a comment about the fact that while Native, we are also having an Indigenous experience. This original piece was first created by Gregg Deal in 2010, and has had life here and there since. There are a few iterations of the ZiggIndigenous print. Most have been done by hand, stencil and acrylic based spray paint in a larger size. There has been one very small run of screen printed versions, but the size was small as was the batch, all done by a small outfit for fun. This is pretty exclusive, as a result. Printed by my good friends at Ink Lounge in Denver, this is a nice entry point for first time buyers, and print collectors. This specific fun won't run again after this.
